children who grow up lonely find words and thoughts in due time. in no time, they are praised and raised by grown-ups to be a Vertical humans in the world, strung along by big floating heads that looked down at everything from a great distance. these floating heads speak on things they know nothing about, filled only with vertical thoughts about all the bodies, objects and lands that surround and came before them. one day, the string holding one of these big floating heads broke and for the first time, this head knew without words, that without the neck, spine, limbs, objects, water and land to hold it aloft, it was nothing more than a heavy, seething ball spewing vapor. having learnt this hard lesson, this floating head has begun the great task of attaching itself back to its body, one craft at as time. arranging new vertical thoughts in service of the objects this body makes from space, time and matter.
